Solent Stevedores
FPV drone videos showcasing next-generation container handling
Solent Stevedores commissioned us to produce website content showcasing their sophisticated container handling operations at London Gateway Port, the UK’s most advanced deep-sea container logistics hub.
Since establishing their presence in 2014, Solent Stevedores have invested over £5-million to develop their eight-acre site, offering cutting-edge empty container handling, storage, maintenance, repair, and shunting services, supporting major shipping lines.
We later returned to the site to produce dedicated video and photography content for International Women in Maritime Day: an important initiative celebrating the contribution of women across the maritime industry. It was a privilege to help tell those stories, and the shoot produced a separate set of assets that Solent Stevedores used to participate meaningfully in the conversation around diversity and inclusion in their sector.

Pre-Production
This project required capturing the scale and technical capabilities of a site handling a whopping 80,000 containers annually! Securing permissions to fly drones within an active port environment required careful coordination with DP World London Gateway.
SHOOT
Production
The FPV drone work was particularly exciting: weaving through container yards, following the movement of handlers, and filming the dynamic energy of the site from immersive angles impossible to achieve with traditional shooting methods. We combined traditional aerial perspectives with FPV footage across the eight-acre facility, with both techniques lending themselves nicely to different port operations.
POST
Post-Production
We delivered a 30-second hero video, an extensive aerial and FPV footage library, and a comprehensive operational photography set, all optimised for website and social media! Always keen to go above and beyond, we later returned to capture additional content for International Women in Maritime Day.
