    A pre-dawn start on a remote Devon headland to film Ryebridge Construction's road resurfacing at a working Trinity House lighthouse.

    Ryebridge Construction resurfaced the access road to Start Point Lighthouse, a Trinity House aid to navigation built in 1836 on one of the most exposed headlands in South Devon. With Trinity House's permission, we spent a full day on site capturing drone footage, ground footage and photography. We arrived before sunrise for first light and worked around exceptionally high winds on the far side of the ridge. The wind made us earn every shot - one side of the ridge was fine, the other was blowing a gale, so every flight was planned around it - We mixed aerial and ground filming to tell the whole story, from the full sweep of the headland right down to the fresh road surface - We photographed the finished road for Ryebridge to use across their own channels The highlight? Climbing right up into the top of the lighthouse to film and shoot from the lantern. Not a view you get every day. We wrapped it all into an extended edit with a project interview, shorter cuts and a set of stills

    Pre-Production

    Obtained Trinity House's permission for drone filming, ground filming and photography at an operational lighthouse. Agreed the shot list with Ryebridge to cover the new road and the lighthouse in context. Planned an arrival before sunrise so we would be set up for first light, and checked the forecast for the exposed headland.

    SHOOT

    Production

    A full day on site, starting before sunrise. Aerial flights were planned around the ridge line: conditions on our side were workable, while wind speeds on the far side were exceptionally high. We ran ground filming and photography of the completed works alongside the flights. With Trinity House's agreement, we climbed to the top of the lighthouse to capture views from the lantern.

    Post-Production

    Ryebridge received a complete content package from the day:

    • a selection of edited stills
    • an extended video edit, built around an interview that explains the project
    • shorter cuts for social media and quick sharing
