Meet the owners of Solent Sky Services

Mike Woods

Putting the ‘party’ in ‘party wall’, Mike has 15 years of experience working in property surveying, and property-related claims and insurance.

Mike has for over a decade enjoyed film and photography as a hobby. In 2018 he found his passion in film making. He thrives on creating visual experiences for clients and helping them with distribution.

A drone pilot with permission for commercial operations, he can survey entire roofs with his drone and advise you of its condition and areas that require attention. His verbal onsite advice is always followed up with a written report confirming the findings. His proficiency in property makes him the go-to guy for property surveying.

When he’s not flying, he’s either motorbiking along on two wheels or kayaking around on none.

Customer care orientated Sara Woods, putting the care and bespoke attention we need into our clients projects. Sara is hard working, dedicated and has over 6 years experience working as an account manager for a very successful award winning local business communications company.

When she's not hard at work she loves to do anything that involves animals!

Sara is a true animal lover at heart and has previously worked for the RSPCA and a well known veterinary surgery.

We are Armed Forces Friendly and have signed the Armed Forces Covenant.

The covenant sets out the relationship between the nation, the government and our Armed Forces. It recognises that the whole nation has a moral obligation to members of the Armed Forces and their families, and it establishes how they should expect to be treated.

The Armed Forces community should not face disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.

Special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most, such as the injured and the bereaved.

The corporate covenant is a public pledge from businesses and other organisations who wish to demonstrate their support for the Armed Forces community.

- We strive to support the employment of Service spouses and partners and of offer a discount to members of the Armed Forces Community.

- We also actively contribute towards charitable events.

- We are happy to support the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), in order to establish a tailored employment pathway for Service Leavers.

- We offer a discount to members of the Armed Forces Community

We’ve got portable pocketable drones like the DJI Mavic Pro, big beastly top-of-the-line drones such as the DJI Inspire 2, plus a broad range of camera gear for creating promotional and cinematic short films on the ground.

We occasionally use GoPros on telescopic poles with bespoke made stabilisation equipment to diversify the imagery we capture during property surveys. The DSLRs and related equipment come out when we’re mixing aerial and ground shots to produce promotional films for businesses, events, or individuals. We use stabilisers such as the DJI Ronin S and specialise full frame camera lenses with focus pullers to ensure we get the shot.

360º cameras give us the opportunity to offer shops, restaurants, and other places interior panoramas which can be featured on Google Maps and thus improve search engine list positioning.

And then, of course, the software: we use a range of industry-standard and specialist programs and apps across phones, tablets, and desktops to chop our footage and photos into masterpieces for each and every client.
