Six months documenting the journey of ten Royal Navy physical training recruits

For the latter half of 2019, we regularly filmed and photographed the ten men and women who took the Leading Physical Training Qualifying Course #65 (LPTQC65) as their first step towards becoming physical trainers in the Royal Navy. Six months of hard work and intense training culminated in a 'passing out' ceremony: a celebration and parade marking servicepeople's graduation from the course.

During the project, we found ourselves choreographing our shoots around Royal Navy workouts, cycling alongside LPTQC65's budding trainers with GoPros affixed to our helmets, and kayaking into caves! We even had the opportunity to work beside Princess Anne, who honoured LPTQC65's 'club swingers' with a visit.

We captured everything from gruelling training sessions to the passing out ceremony itself: an incredible showcase of strength, determination, and success. It was truly an honour to film it.
