Drone photography for hotels: Becketts Southsea

Becketts Southsea, a boutique hotel in Portsmouth, reached out to us to create and capture a range of media assets that would help boost and bolster their online presence and marketing — including drone visuals, of course!

Ground & Interior Hotel Photography

We’ve a focus on drones and aerial imagery, but Solent Sky Services is also a full-service media agency offering ground photography services for businesses in the tourism trade, including hotels!

We worked closely with the managers and chefs at Becketts to arrange a full-day shoot, capturing stylish photographs of the hotel’s charming interiors and delicious food and drink. Every shot was framed with social media in mind, and every picture has a vertical counterpart for use on Instagram Stories. We also delivered the final selection of edited photos in a geotagged format to help Becketts rank higher on Google and Google Maps — SEO is vital!

Exterior Aerial 360º

Becketts is sited on a road in Portsmouth not typically associated with bustling tourism, so it’s not quite as well signposted or served by travel guides as some of the headlining hotspots in the city.

360º visuals are a brilliant way to curtail this problem. An interactive panoramic photo on the homepage of a hotel’s website provides instant geographic context to potential visitors, making it easier to find and effortlessly showcasing the beautiful surroundings — in Becketts’ case, the beach!

Virtual tours of a hotel or resort’s interior are also key assets for a digital marketer’s toolkit; they’re second only to actually standing in the room! Many case studies from the tourism marketing industry have shown that accommodation listings which feature 360 degree visuals of rooms and facilities convert a higher number of bookings.
