Portico Shipping Cargo

The units we filmed arriving at Portico ensured Portsmouth was ready to receive HMS Prince of Wales, which boasts a flight deck that’s 70 metres wide and 280 metres long — enough space for three football pitches! Staggeringly Good crowdfunder

Our main video for Staggeringly Good Beer’s crowdfunding campaign. It features the TriceraTap riding past all the local businesses who Staggeringly Good have worked with over the years, and explanations of what investor money would fund, and what crowdfunders would get in return. The brewery raised £300,000, smashing their original goal.

LEGO Education Studio launch at UTC Portsmouth

In 2018, Portsmouth became home to its very own LEGO Education Studio. Housed at UTC Portsmouth, kids use the space to learn how to program LEGO using specially-designed software! We were excited to be invited along to film the launch event, hosted by Essential Teaching UK.

Snows BMW Portsmouth 8 Series and BMW X5 launch

Though bad weather stopped us from capturing aerial footage of Snows BMW’s stylish building, we still had a grand old time shooting the VIP launch of their all-new 8 Series, and the new BMW X5.

Britanny Ferries

We provided a selection of cinema-quality aerial videos to France-to-UK ferry company Brittany Ferries for their B2C and B2B marketing. As well as acquiring permissions for the flights from the Queen’s Harbour Masters in Portsmouth and Plymouth, we went a step further for the Plymouth flights, seeking approval from the Association of British Ports.

Wightlink Ferries

If you happened to be aboard a Wightlink ferry in the latter half of 2018, you might have spotted us lugging around heavy cases full of drones, cameras, lenses, and battery charging generators! We were drifting to and from the Isle of Wight, shooting a terabyte’s worth of RAW 4K footage for the passenger ferry firm to use in their campaigns.

Highlights Video: Southsea Pier Festival 2019 on Portsmouth’s South Parade Pier

With a little more time to plan, we returned to South Parade Pier on the day of the festival to shoot a highlights reel that the organisers could use to promote the following year‘s event! The video features a billing of terrific local talent — can you spot any of your local faves?

A boat ride on the Solent

We take every opportunity we can get to head out onto the Solent waters. It’s such an incredible spot for taking to the sea, no matter which craft you find yourself in! For us, well, we wound up in a friend of a friend’s new boat after agreeing that it’d be cool to snap some drone pictures of it speeding around. So long as you respect the Solent and your neighbouring harbour traffic, it’s a very safe place to sail — and fly! Read more on our blog →

HMS Queen Elizabeth returns — again!

While out on the water (see the previous video: ‘Solent Boat Ride’), we were thinking about popping over to Osborne Bay for a quick dip when we spotted a looming silhouette on the horizon. Lo and behold, HMS Queen Elizabeth was returning to Portsmouth that same day, unbeknownst to us! Without hesitation, we refocused our attention from our humble boat to the impressive feat of naval engineering that calls Portsmouth its home.

A Tour of Spitbank Fort and No Man’s Fort off the Portsmouth coastline

We paid a visit to two of the luxury Solent Forts hotels: Spitbank Fort and No Man’s Fort. We captured some incredible footage during the trip, including some stunning drone shots. Our videos helped showcase and sell the extensive range of facilities available in the luxury hotels.

Stanhope House Topping Out

This new development is one of the tallest buildings in the city, at the time of writing. Located on the corner of Commercial Road just opposite Portsmouth and Southsea station it’s only a short walk away from the main campus of Portsmouth University. Watch the video and read more on our blog →

Gunwharf Quays’ COVID-19 preparations

With bustling crowds, fairly tight thoroughfares, and very few ideal spots for take-offs and landings, shopping centres aren’t the easiest places to fly safely and legally. When Gunwharf Quays offered us the chance to fly around freely during the COVID-19 lockdown, we were ecstatic! We used one of our FPV cinewhoops to get some truly unique fast-paced shots.
