Drone photography and flying experience at Netley Court Care Home

Netley Court Care Home contacted us recently to request a drone photograph of their premises. Our discussions quickly led to them wanting a whole bank of photos, plus a highlights video from the flight and a 360º panorama!

We explained that it would take around three hours to capture all the commissioned imagery, and suggested that once we were done we could give interested residents a chance to fly the drone under our safe supervision!

One of the residents explained that he was once a photographer; a keen user of analogue cameras. It was a joy to see his reaction when Mike talked him through how the drone camera operates.

Drones are, after all, like tripod-mounted cameras in the sky, controlled from the ground using glare-resistant displays and intuitive controllers. The resident learned quickly, and took a few photos of the local area — including his old house!

Here’s the 360º aerial photo we shot:

Both the home and its sea-facing garden are continuously exposed to some of the harshest weather the Solent can muster, so we took a little extra time to snap some aerial property survey photography for roof inspections. We’re all about adding value!

Autumnal colours always look even more incredible from above — especially during the golden light of dusk.

Much gratitude to Netley Court Care Home for contacting us for this project. Shooting from above and then giving residents the chance to do the same was an enormous pleasure! We’re definitely looking to offer more opportunities like this to people in the future.
