Meet the team at Solent Sky Services
CAA-approved drone pilots, aerial photographers, ground filmmakers, and property experts
Get to know the members of the Solent Sky Services team who are helping people, cities, and businesses embrace drone technology for solving problems and showcasing their stories.
Michael Woods
Mike, our lead drone pilot is a keen team player, and an avid believer in meticulous attention to detail. He thoroughly enjoys the Solent Sky Services journey, and all the work the company does. Mike enjoys meeting new people and forging fresh relationships. He believes there’s no such thing as a boring conversation!
Putting the ‘party’ in ‘party wall’, Mike’s 17 years of experience in property surveying and insurance claims pairs perfectly with his commercial drone certification and love for aerial shoots, making him the go-to guy for drone property surveys and roof inspections.
When he’s on-site, Mike is Solent Sky Services’ CAA-approved pilot. He’s also a dab hand at ground filmmaking and photography, capturing visuals and stories for a wide range of commercial uses.
When he’s in the office, Mike is either writing up pre- and post-flight reports, editing through hours of video on the hunt for a strong narrative, or helping clients use film and photography to promote their businesses and products.
When he’s not working, Mike is likely spending time with the family, still flying drones or going on photo walks.
Sara Woods
The exact person every drone pilot dreams of having by their side, Sara is an expert at hand-launching and hand-catching drones, spotting, operating the camera, and keeping sites clear and safe. She also manages accounts, regularly communicating with SSS clients.
When she’s on-site, Sara helps complete safety checks and ensures conditions are ideal before take-off, during flight, and before landing. If you stray too close, expect a firm talking to!
When she’s in the office, Sara is working hard on communicating client needs to the rest of the SSS team, delivering updates back to clients, and sharing our latest projects and news on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
When she’s not working, Sara’s busy being an animal lover! She once worked for the RSCPA, and now frequents Dogspotting.
