Stanhope House topping out: event and construction photography

RGB Group celebrated the ‘topping out’ — a builder’s rite that’s marked by the final beam being placed atop a structure, completing its construction — of their 19-storey Stanhope House tower on 28th May 2019.

At the time of writing, it’s their tallest building yet, with a concrete core and steel frame. Stanhope House has a contract value of £17m, and is expected to be completed late 2019. We were fortunate enough to be called in to photograph the topping out ceremony.

The ceremony was conducted by David Fuller - The Lord Mayor Of Portsmouth. Here he is with Richie Newsham, the Construction Director at RGB Group

Using drones for property inspections and roof surveys is easier, safe, and more cost-effective than scaffolding!

Stanhope house is being constructed for Crosslane Student Developments who are part of the Crosslane Property Group. We understand the project is set to be completed on budget and on time ready for the start of the 2019/20 academic year. This scheme is Crosslane’s first development in Portsmouth.

This new development is one of the tallest buildings in the city. Located on the corner of Commercial Road just opposite Portsmouth and Southsea station it’s only a short walk away from the main campus of Portsmouth University. We love the way our city is changing and we’re going to capture it from a unique perspective.
