LPTQC65’s Journey to Navy Pass-Out: a six-month shoot

For the past six months — the latter half of 2019 — we’ve regularly filmed and photographed the ten men and women who took the Leading Physical Training Qualifying Course #65 (LPTQC65) as their first step towards becoming physical trainers in the Royal Navy.

Six months of hard work and intense training culminated in a ‘passing out’ ceremony: a celebration and parade marking servicepeople’s graduation from the course.

Here’s a highlights video documenting the journey:

During the project, we found ourselves choreographing our shoots around Royal Navy workouts, cycling alongside LPTQC65’s budding trainers with GoPros affixed to our helmets, and kayaking into caves!

We even had the opportunity to work beside Princess Anne, who honoured LPTQC65’s ‘club swingers’ with a visit.

The passing out ceremony was an incredible showcase of strength, determination, and success, and it was truly an honour to capture it. Gifting the graduates a record of their memories of this pivotal moment in their lives was an enormous privilege.
