Easter Weekend 2020 vs. 2021: 4K video comparison of Portsmouth under COVID

With the UK lockdown restrictions easing people have felt safe to head out and enjoy Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. The aerial photos we’ve taken this Easter weekend are a huge contrast compared to the eerily empty aerial photos we took this time last year. It’s nice to see people out and about safely enjoying the outdoor spaces around Portsmouth once again.

Southsea seafront has been so quiet throughout lockdown and people have respected the social distancing laws. It’s a huge relief for everyone to see the restrictions slowly being lifted and the UK Roadmap being followed.

Queens Hotel Portsmouth are busy preparing for opening, Southsea Skate Park was open and in operation and Southsea Beach was being enjoyed by many. Would love to fly FPV drones around Southsea Skate Park one day. Click here to view a short video we filmed flying FPV around Southsea Rock Gardens, and check out the drone 360 photo below by clicking and dragging, you can pinch ‘n’ zoom too!

We captured a few video clips as featured in Portsmouth News. Check out our feature in the news by clicking here and the video compilation below.

We enlisted the help of a local photography enthusiast who has recently turned her talents to drone flying! So good to see local photographers being able to take to the skies using the latest drone equipment. All of the footage and photos on this blog were captured with a DJI Mini 2. This affordable drone is a superb entry point to the drone market as it is both safe to fly, weighs under 250g, and has a 12mp camera sensor. The camera sensor is small but you can still shoot in RAW and bracket images to get the best results.

Here’s a selection of Sarah’s superb photos which she handed to us in RAW format for us to edit. We’re impressed!
